I find this quote a whole lot more inspiring than the hundreds of other quotes about change. I resist change. I don't like it. This quote is different from the rest because it starts out admiting that change is scary, not just some inevitable fact of life. It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar! It does! The time when this quote meant the most to me was while I was still working at the zoo. I didn't like that job, but it was easy and familiar. When the prospect of moving to Gemini came up, it scared me. But this quote was so true. It wasn't really security that I had at the zoo, it was only familiarity. Starting at Gemini was a good and sturdy step up and reading this quote over and over helped me make it.
